What a surprise! SM Entertainment just announced that a pre-debut group made of their best trainees will have form a special group called SMRookies.
The announcement was made on SMTOWN’s official facebook page, along with individual teaser photos of three of the members. The revealed members are Taeyong (18 years old), Seulgi (18 years old), and Jeno (13 years old). The photos show that SM will not disappoint their fans with these pretty faces.
[Update] SMRookies will introduce SM’s new “Co-Creation” system. Fans will be able to participate in preliminary events and showcases before the official debut. The rookies will have the freedom to form different groups with each other, and show their day-to-day lives and practices to their fans. These rookies will also participate in concert and variety shows to win the hearts of fans. We can also expect covers of songs by their company’s seniors and their own originally composed songs in open performances to showcase their talents.
Seulgi might seem a little familiar with those who keep up with the show “Radio Star.” In an episode this past August, it was revealed that Kyuhyun had a crush on Seulgi, who was just known as an SM trainee back then. During the show he sent her a message, “I hope you are training hard. I’ll cheer for you so you make it big. But don’t become too famous.” After that episode, Seulgi became a hot topic for netizens. She is called “the second Taeyeon” among fans. She has been training for about five years and has even practiced with Krystal and Sulli, who are the same age.
SM also released two video teasers of Seulgi. In one she sings “White Christmas” as she walks along the streets of Seoul, and in the other she shares a cake with the camera while “Sweet Cake,“written by Super Junior‘s Donghae, plays in the background.

How about more cute SM trainees to start your morning? SM Entertainment revealed three more of their SMRookies members: Hansol, Jisung, and Mark.
Not much has been revealed about these trainees, but visually they
look up to the SM standard. SM Entertainment also released a video of
the male trainees, which include these tree plus the previously revealed
Taeyong, Jaehyun, and Jeno, getting trained in dancing by famed choreographer Tony Testa. Tony Testa is the mastermind behind the choreography of SHINee‘s “Sherlock,” TVXQ“s “Catch Me,” and EXO‘s “Wolf” among others. Through the video we can see that these trainees are getting the moves down, even at a young age.

SM Entertainment recently announced their new project group SMRookies and revealed three of their trainees: Taeyong, Seulgi, and Jeno. On December 10, the agency revealed two more trainees, Lami (age 10), Irene (age 22), and Jaehyun (age 16).
Lami, real name Kim Sun Kyung, was recently in the SBS drama “Five Fingers” playing the younger version of Jin Se Yeon’s character. SMRookies also released a video of her and Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany. In the video, Lami is being fussed over by Tiffany. Although no words can be heard, we can see Tiffany showing a motherly side to her as she take special care to make sure Lami’s hair and clothes look suitable. The sweet senior and junior moment is made even sweeter, with Tiffany’s puppy, Prince, frolicking around between them.
Irene was most recently in Henry‘s music video, “1-4-3 (I Love You)” as Henry’s love interest. Not much else has been revealed about Jaehyun. Hopefully more information will be released about Jaehyun and other SMRookies members.
